Week 1

My assigned task in week one in my EDET class was to learn the different roles of technology and media in education .We watched a video in class in which we had to state some of the different media's in which we saw was used to in the video. We then outlined some of the various categories of media which are videos,written,images,audio,people and manipulative objects. We then learnt about the three main learning styles which are visual, audio and bodily kinaesthetic.

Individuals learn in different ways.  I learnt about visual learners. Visual learners are learnings who gain information's from observing and seeing things. I learnt about Verbal learners, those individuals are learners who can read or hear. Intuitive learners: those individuals are learners who likes reading but hates going over things. I learnt about sensing learners, in which these learners are individuals who explores beyond things. Reflective learners are learners who works best by themselves while active learners are individuals who works best in groups and group discussions.

The challenges faced doing the task given was that my computer wasn't working so good. I overcome that challenged by using another classmates computer to complete the tasks given .

I learnt a lot from the session we had based on the role of technology. I did not know what were some of the types of learners but now I  know the different types of learners in a classroom or in any setting.

I would really implement what I have learnt in week one by catering for the needs of the various types of learners in my classroom and I would use more of the categories of media to show information to my upcoming students.
