Another splendiferous week with the action lady Mrs. Roberts. Energetic is one of the adjectives I could use to describe our EDET lecturer. Our task at hand was to write EDET specific objectives using the ASSURE model.
We started out by using the VARK questionnaire survey.
A-analyse
S-state objectives
S-select media and materials
U-utilize media and materials
R-require learner participation
E-evaluate and revise
The ASSURE model is very useful when writing objectives for lesson plans.
Analyze-we learnt that you have to first analyze the learners, know the number of students in your set classroom, know the amount of males or females you are teaching and their learning styles.
State objectives-I learnt that when writing lesson plans using the assure model ,you should state the objectives with the aid of the ABCD method. In which when writing you state your audience, which is your students, behaviour, which is generally what you want your audience to do which is generally an action word, condition, which is the circumstances under which the behaviour should be performed, degree is how well the teacher wants the work to be do.
Select media and materials-I learnt that when writing specific objectives, I should select my suitable materials that will be used in the lesson.(eg ,charts, computers)
Utilize Media and materials-I learnt that when writing lesson plans I should utilize or use the materials and media listed in my objectives successfully. I should require the audience participation in the lesson.
Evaluate and Revise-I learnt when writing objectives ,I should let students reflect on the lesson and I as the teacher should reflect as well.
I then learnt about the bloom's taxonomy when writing objectives .We differentiated that the old version were all placed in nouns(knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation) but the revised version are all action words,( Remembering, understanding, applying, analysing, creating, evaluating) all words that are doing something.
I really learnt a lot during this week and using what I have learnt it would really benefit me when I get back into my classroom to write successful specific objectives/learning outcomes.
I had challenges first in understanding the concept but Mrs, Terrific went back over the steps and procedure then I overcame my biggest challenge for the week.
In week four I learnt alotttt.
Dear Chalik,
ReplyDeleteI am extremely happy to know that you are learning alot in EDET class.
It is quite evident that you are open minded to change and have been working hard to demonstrate this by posting reflections on your blog.
Keep it up!!!
